Ca' Rugate: one hundred years of life, four generations, a century of wine history in Italy.
History and future intertwine in this winery in Montecchia di Crosara, in the province of Verona, managed by the Tessari family for four generations. A long lineage that began with Amedeo, at the beginning of the last century, to the present day with the current leadership of Michele, passing through Fulvio and his son Amedeo, in a unique family continuity.
Today, Ca’ Rugate is known worldwide for the quality of its wines, which arise from the work and care over 90 hectares of Soave Classico, Valpolicella, and Lessini Durello, where native varieties such as Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave, and Durella for whites wine, and Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone for reds wine are cultivated. Ca’ Rugate produces about 700,000 bottles, 50% of which are for the international market across 45 countries. In Italy, Ca’ Rugate wines reach over 95 provinces.
Since May 2017, Ca’ Rugate's vineyards have been cultivated organically. The pride in its history is evidenced by the Enomuseum Ca’ Rugate, an exhibition of over 150 tools and instruments used by the Tessari family over a century of winemaking activity. This museum, a site of regional interest, is set in a farmhouse from the early post-war period, documenting the wine production process, from the arrival of the grapes in the courtyard to aging and bottling in the cellar. It is open for visits every day and is located within the winery of Montecchia di Crosara.
Since May 2019, Ca' Rugate has become an Educational Farm of the Veneto Region, offering educational programs for schools from early childhood to primary education.
