The Canoso family has always believed in the quality of the wine produced on the hills of Monteforte d'Alpone. In fact, since 1876 they have cultivated gardens and vineyards here, selling bulk wine in the markets of northern Italy.
In 2016, Canoso met Giovanni and Francesco, two entrepreneurs with wine in their DNA. Together, they decided to revive the Canoso brand, now recognized in both the Italian and international markets, as a synonym for high-quality wines that represent the volcanic territory of Soave.
Canoso cultivates 15 hectares of its own vineyards in the heart of Soave Classico, at altitudes between 90 and 290 meters. The vines, spread across gently sloping hills mostly exposed to the southeast, enjoy a privileged position: the constant ventilation and abundant sunlight create the ideal environment for obtaining healthy, rich, and concentrated grapes.
Their work in the vineyard enhances each individual vine, respecting the timing of nature. They adopt a low environmental impact agricultural approach, focused on lasting quality and the preservation of soil balance and the ecosystem.
The Garganega, the undisputed queen of Soave, is the grape variety on which the identity of our production is based, enriched by the typical minerality of volcanic soils, releasing floral aromas, citrus freshness, and an elegant taste persistence.
Completing the production are Trebbiano di Soave and Manzoni Bianco, which contribute structure, aromatic richness, and
longevity potential. For these grapes as well, the combination of exposure, ventilation, and soil composition is the key
to wines with a clear and authentic profile.
Canoso also selects red-skinned grapes – Cabernet Sauvignon, Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella – for the production of Rosso Veronese, Valpolicella, and Amarone. The vineyards, aged between 20 and 45 years, allow for the production of complex, balanced, and authentic wines.
