Palazzo Bevilacqua is located at No. 38 of Corso Sant’Anastasia, on the street leading to the homonymous church.
The palace dates back to the XIII century and is owned by the Bevilacqua family, one of the oldest in Verona.
This historic palace was the residence of Dante's son, Pietro Alighieri, his nephew Dante II, and his great-nephew Leonardo.
The evidence of their stay in this house is preserved in a document from 1453 kept in the Serego Alighieri archive of Gargagnago di Valpolicella.
In the mid-nineteenth century, the building was radically renovated, but traces of the medieval structure remain, especially in two windows that alternate tuff and brick in the frame.
The ground floor of the palace is largely used for commercial purposes today, while the other floors of the building are still inhabited by the descendants of the commissioning family.
