The Church of Santa Maria di Monte Santo dei Padri Domenicani is one of the most picturesque in Soave. It dominates the Antenna square and is located along the climb that leads to the castle.
It was built in 1443 in Lombard style. It was rebuilt in the same century on the advice and under the direction of Fra Giocondo. By order of the municipality of Soave, a small convent was added to accommodate the Dominican friars. Here, there were two religious brotherhoods: that of the Good Death and that of the Rosary.
It was completely restored in 1985, and many of the frescoes were brought back to the delight of visitors. The chapels on the left are dedicated to Saint Lucia and Saint Apollonia, to the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary, and the third to the Christ Crucified.
On the left of the presbytery, high on the wall, there is a fresco representing a Lamentation over the Dead Christ.
The wall on the right depicts the stories of Saint Lazarus, portrayed in the guise of a leper and beggar.
Adjacent to the church stood a small convent.
