In the district of Cattignano, there is the church of San Benedetto, dedicated to its founder of the Benedictine order, first mentioned in 1582.
In the 16th century, the church had 3 altars: the main altar of the Patron Saint, to the right the altar of San Valentino, and to the left the altar of the Most Holy Crucifix. In 1966, the altar of the Most Holy was renamed to San Francesco d’Assisi. Towards the 1800s, the church was expanded and opened to the faithful in 1829, becoming an autonomous parish in 1947.
In the square in front of the church, there is the bell tower; in 1552, only 1 bell is mentioned, in 1666 there is talk of a small bell tower, while the current one, of considerable height, was erected in 1881.
