The small Church of San Pietro in Briano is a building located on the hill of the same name and surrounded by a grove, not far from the neighborhood of Brian. This church is dedicated to Saint Peter, one of the twelve apostles; it has a single nave with an apse.
Documents from the late 1600s indicate that it was entrusted to the care of a hermit who lived in an adjacent house. After World War II, the building was restored.
It features numerous frescoes dating back to the 14th century both on the exterior wall and inside; on the altar, there are two statues depicting Saints Peter and Paul. Above, there was a canvas depicting Saint Peter among Saints Bartholomew and George.
Opening times
Today the church is open only on the occasion of the liturgical feast of Saints Peter and Paul.Contact
