Although historical sources do not allow for certainty, some scholars hypothesize that the church of S. Pietro in Colle may correspond to the parish church of Caldiero, mentioned in sources since 1145 in a bull from Pope Eugene III.
Based on morphology, construction technique, and internal pictorial decoration, it can be asserted that the building belongs to the first half of the 12th century. Following the construction of the new parish church dedicated to S. Giovanni in the 16th century, the church of S. Pietro, now unable to meet the needs of the community, became a chapel.
The building features a gabled façade facing west. On the south side of the presbytery stands the bell tower with a rectangular plan. The church has a single rectangular nave layout, with a raised presbytery that ends in a semicircular apse.
Inside the church, there are two niches carved into the thickness of the wall: one on each side of the triumphal arch. Above the left niche, the remnants of an ornament featuring ribbons bent at right angles can be seen, proposing a series of pink and green meanders. Below the ornament, there is a fragment of an undecipherable scene. In the lower niche, there is a depicted clipeate bust of Christ Blessing, and below it remains a fragment of the figure of S. Pantaleone, surrounded by a yellow halo, edged in white and red.
