The Oratory of St. Anthony the Abbot in Caldierino was built between 1693 and 1696 as a public oratory subject to the parish church of St. Peter in Caldiero. In 1889, the district of Caldierino, along with the church of St. Anthony the Abbot, was detached from the Parish of Caldiero and incorporated into the adjacent Parish of St. Lorenzo in Rota.
The church has a rectangular single-nave layout with a square-shaped presbytery raised two steps, slightly narrower than the nave, and protected on three sides by balustrades, concluding with a semicircular apse. On the sides of the longitudinal walls of the nave, two wide emerging apsidal chapels open up, one on each side facing each other, which house the altar of St. Anthony on the northern side and the altar of the Madonna on the opposite side.
The facade is gabled with a double front, resulting from a general elevation carried out at the end of the 19th century. At the center, framed between two pairs of pilasters with Ionic capitals, the rectangular entrance portal opens, surmounted by a semicircular tympanum. The facade is vertically closed by the tympanum with a slightly projecting cornice.
The spacious and airy interior of the church, widely illuminated by windows that open along the top of the walls, is characterized by a harmonious and balanced architectural and decorative composition, resulting from a stylistic redefinition in a neoclassical sense carried out after the expansion at the end of the 19th century. The facades, plastered and painted, are rhythmically adorned with Ionic pilasters that frame molded blind arches and support a high molded entablature that encircles the entire perimeter. On the rear wall, remnants of frescoes recently recovered are preserved.
