The small church was inaugurated on September 1, 1961, under the title of the parish of Brenton and in the presence of Don Francesco, the then parish priest of Brenton.
According to accounts, the church was originally erected on the highest point of Mount Calvarina, which coincided with the helicopter landing area. Subsequently, it was demolished to make way for the base and rebuilt, at the state's expense, where it is located today, in front of the Ciclamino but across the road.
The demolition took place in 1961, in perfect harmony with the year of the new church, 1962, displayed on the facade.
