Grotta di Fumane

The Fumane Cave is one of the most important prehistoric archaeological sites in Europe. The rich finds uncovered in its filling deposits provide exceptional clues about the life, technology, and symbolic behavior of humanity in Valpolicella for over 170,000 years, such as traces of ornaments made with feathers from birds of prey of the Neanderthals and the extraordinary Shaman Stone of early Homo sapiens. The Fumane Cave offers guided tours and workshops for all schools of every level at the archaeological site or directly in schools.

Every year, the Fumane Cave organizes events related to prehistory and the local excellence, in collaboration with the site’s partner network, intertwining gastronomic, naturalistic, and cultural themes.
