Oratorio San Giovanni Nepomuceno

The construction of the Oratory of St. John Nepomuk in the Cracchi district of Bolca dates back to the first half of the 18th century.
The inhabitants of the district, considering the distance that separated them from the parish of Bolca and the difficult terrain, requested in 1730 the necessary ecclesiastical authorities' permission to build a small church for the celebration of some functions. A significant economic contribution came from one of the residents, a certain Giovanni Cracco.
The works, which began in 1736, were completed in 1741. The extension of the length and elevation of the hall dates back to the 1930s.

The building features a gabled façade in neoclassical style. Characterized by a simplified architectural language, the façade is framed by two pilasters located on a lower base, upon which rests a simple molded entablature and a triangular pediment with a summit cross.
In the center of the front, there is a portal with squared limestone jambs and lintel, above which lies an oculus.
The external walls are plastered, except for the corner columns which display the texture of limestone blocks.

The interior consists of a single rectangular nave with a strongly developed longitudinal axis. The presbytery is quadrangular with a flat back wall, raised by two steps and slightly narrower than the hall.
On the eastern side of the presbytery, there is a small chapel with a rectangular plan, directly communicating with both the presbytery and the hall, positioned one step lower; from here, the connection is made to the room designated as the sacristy, located at the back of the apse wall.
The main entrance is located in the center of the façade, accessed by ascending an external flight of stairs from the level of the front atrium. A secondary entrance opens in the building that houses the smaller hall. The bell tower rises isolated near the western side of the presbytery.
