Panorami, boschi e grotte della Lessinia Orientale

Starting from Sant'Andrea di Badia Calavena and then leaving the village of Selva di Progno, you enter the splendid Valle del Covolo, along a climb in the woods that will leave you speechless. Towards the summit you reach the characteristic Cóvoli, a set of karst caves famous for the discovery of numerous artifacts, including those of the Cave Bear.  

You continue through the small agro-pastoral hamlets of Tezze and Crocelunga, where inhabitants still live closely connected to the land and livestock. It will feel like going back in time to a moment when time stands still and leaves room for slowness and essentials. 

The route descends into the Progno valley, the stream characterizes the splendid landscape. Among meadows, streams, and rural farmhouses, shortly before reaching your destination you encounter an old hydroelectric power plant, still inhabited by an elderly lady who, if you are lucky, will tell you its story.
