This itinerary starts and ends in two beautiful walled cities, Montagnana and Soave: it is an interesting cycling route of 37 km among the municipalities of south-eastern Verona that revolve around the border with the provinces of Vicenza and Padua. You ride on secondary roads, almost entirely on asphalt, except for brief dirt sections, in a path rich in greenery among places that offer many points of interest for a visit.
From the historic center of Montagnana, a city rich in history and artistic beauty, you head northeast through Porta Vicenza and turn left to enter the Fiumicello park. Upon leaving the park, turn left, continuing on Via Caprano. Then proceed on Via Argine Padovano, Via Varisella Vecchia, and Via Ponte Destra, then take the uphill cycling path to reach the embankment of the Guà, the starting point of "Percorso del Colognese".
You travel along the embankment for just over a kilometer, then turn onto Via Calmaora, followed by Via Sant’Eugenia, which leads into the center of Pressana, where you turn onto Via IV Novembre and then onto Via Carbon. Continue on the bike path of Via Traversina; shortly after the underpass of the former Treviso-Ostiglia railway, take Via Roma, which leads into the center of Cologna Veneta, famous for the production of typical mandorlato.
After passing the Town Hall, at the roundabout turn left, then pedal towards the embankment of the Fratta and turn left, continuing in a rural environment. Cross the provincial road, continuing on Via Roversella and then towards the center of Veronella. At the next roundabout keep right, and at the traffic light turn left onto Via Strada Romana. Continue straight for a long stretch, until you reach the locality of Desmontà, where you cross a provincial road and continue until crossing the Alpone stream: from that point you can admire the Botti della Zerpana, a monumental hydraulic work. Beyond the bridge, take the dirt road along the embankment of the stream which, at the site of the monument commemorating the famous Napoleonic battle, leads to San Bonifacio, where, via the cycling ramp, you cross the Alpone and continue on the cycle path, until the end of "Percorso del Colognese".
Exiting onto Via Don Ambrosini, you cross the railway underpass to the left, emerging onto the SR11, near the Romanesque Abbey of Villanova. Keeping to the left and carefully navigating a short stretch of the road, just after the bridge over the Alpone, turn right onto Via Fornace, which you travel while overpassing the highway. From the roundabout, continue straight onto Via San Lorenzo, which leads in front of Porta Verona, one of the monumental entrances to the walled city of Soave, with a magnificent view of the castle sitting on a hill overlooking the historic center.
