Restaurant “La Locanda” is a new reality in the heart of Marcellise. We wanted to bring our passion for seafood to the hills.
We will show you LOVE through our dishes where quality, freshness, and refinement reign supreme.
The first buildings of the “La Locanda” complex were built around 1880 by Angelo Zattoni after acquiring the land that had come to him as an inheritance from the Lupati and Brenzoni families to Countess Angela Marioni.
In the new building, Zattoni obtained the license to sell food products to manage a tavern and for the bakery. The oven would play an important role in the history of the Locanda.
In fact, Angelo Zattoni’s daughter, Ermelinda, married the baker Antonio Invernizzi, who was responsible for the oven. Their son Angelo became a famous engineer and brought fame to the family and Marcellise through the construction of Villa Girevole, near the Locanda, and the skyscraper in Genoa.
Upon Ermelinda’s death, her assets passed to the Invernizzi family, who transformed the tavern into “Albergo Marcellise.” Under Giovanni Invernizzi’s management, a transportation service was established to San Martino Buon Albergo, initially with a carriage, and later with a car.
In 1938, the Invernizzi family handed over the management of the hotel and tavern to external entities. Subsequently, the shop and hotel transformed into the restaurant La Locanda that we know today.
