PATH OF THE THREE VALLEYS
The path of the three Valleys unfolds around the village of Tregnago, a town in the high Val d'Illasi at the foothills of the Eastern Lessinia, rich in history, religious archaeology, and traditions.
An up and down route through woods, churches, fortresses, and castles, rising to a maximum altitude of 780 m above sea level, traversing a network of paths and mule tracks; then descending towards the municipalities of Illasi and Cazzano di Tramigna, among manor houses and ancient courtyards, surrounded by cherry trees, vineyards, and olive groves where excellence is cultivated, such as Amarone Classico wine and prestigious olive oil; slightly climbing again to reach the slopes of the west side of the Mezzane Valley.
The spectacular view, to the north the Little Dolomites-Monti Lessini and to the south the lush Veronese plain, rewards the tolerable effort: a route of about 43 km, mainly suitable for mountain biking.
The surroundings of Tregnago are worth a visit for the presence of castles in Tregnago and Illasi, for the washhouses of Macermigo and Cogollo, and for the numerous churches and chapels including the Ancient Pieve of Calavena (Church of Discipline) and the villas belonging to the 15th and 16th centuries.
- Length: 43 km
