The residence was built in the second half of the 1500s by the Aquadevita family, Verona merchants. It was used as a summer countryside residence and the headquarters of the business activity.
It consists of a main building facing the road and oriented, through the rear facade, towards the garden and the countryside. The complex is completed by another adjacent building, primarily serving as an east barn, and a rural annex with a barn that delineates the courtyard to the west.
The central core of the main building is the oldest part, dating back to the 16th century. In the following century, expansions and additions were made, such as the loggia composed of six large arches facing south.
In 1687, the complex was sold to local families (first the Domaschio and then the Zangiacomi) due to the difficult economic situation of the Aquadevita family.
