Villa da Prato is a small 16th-century Venetian villa set amidst the greenery and tranquility of a fenced property of 7 hectares in the center of Caldiero, conveniently reachable from the Verona East and Soave motorway exits.
Its full name is Villa Da Prato-Fiorini, and it is a country manor built in Caldiero between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century. The northern facade of the complex, which is the current entrance to the villa, retains traces of 16th-century fresco. The most beautiful facade is the southern one, formed by a small loggia with three arches supported by Veronese marble columns. But what catches the visitor's eye is the 17th-century brick dovecote, which is unique in having its sides oriented to the cardinal points. This overlooks a courtyard enclosed by two barchesse. These can be found depicted on a map from 1818 preserved in the villa.
The layout of the interior rooms follows the classical models of 16th-century Venetian villas, featuring a central hall and rooms on either side.
Today, the villa hosts not only weddings but also corporate and private events, which can be organized in the woods or in the garden.
