A first certain reference dates back to 1772, the year the building seems to have undergone expansion and certainly completion in its current form.
The entire complex features a main body and a second lateral body, erected to the left with a large entrance portal in rusticated ashlar, on which two oval openings stand out; this volume ends in a crenellated turret.
The main façade adheres to the geometric layout of 18th-century architecture, with a central access portal elegantly adorned with rustic ashlar, topped with a balcony and an opening surmounted by a broken arch pediment that houses, at its center, a heraldic coat of arms of the Portalupi family.
An elegant denticulated cornice runs along the entire eaves line, unifying the whole building, while a mixed-line pediment crowns the top, embellished with marble pinnacled sculptures. On all façades, the openings are enhanced by the presence of frieze elements.
The building was then purchased to be designated for the future House of Refuge or other charitable works. On November 11, 1926, Don Alessandro Marangoni opened a Rest Home for "old people who are not sick and the invalids in productive work."
