The villa stands on a Roman centuriate, the traces of which are visible within the cellars.
Built in the mid-16th century, it has undergone various transformations over the centuries, gradually shedding its primarily agricultural character to take on its current function as a holiday residence.
The park is of particular value, with its 18th-century appearance, rich in centuries-old plants; the significant contribution of Professor Carlo Vanzetti, a renowned agronomist and agricultural economist, and his daughter Maria Alessandra, also an agronomist, has led to the presence of centenary and rare plants, imported from their countless travels around the world, which can now be enjoyed while strolling through the garden.
The villa served as a military hospital during the Napoleonic era and was later occupied by the Germans and the Allies in World War II; traces of this last occupation include caricatures on the walls of a room adjacent to the barn.
Today, the villa has been designated as a location for events.
