Built around the mid-eighteenth century, it rises in the center of the capital, located halfway between Verona and Mantua, and just one kilometer east of the ancient route of the Roman consular road "Postumia." This glorious Roman roadway was eventually replaced by the current "Strada mantovana," the main communication route between the south and north of the Po Valley after hydraulic engineering works promoted by the Duchy of Mantua in the fifteenth century led to the formation of the lakes that currently surround the Lombard city and the definitive abandonment of the ancient Roman road.
The real estate complex consisting of the three-story manor house with the barchesse extending towards the area of the brolo has been restored with a restoration intervention. The various changes of ownership, which mainly occurred in the early years of the twentieth century, had led the Villa towards a decline and a degradation that seemed definitive and total to many; degradation overcome by the providential and very recent architectural and artistic restoration.
