The high-level training project for six artists under 35, born from the synergy between Pergine Festival and Estate Teatrale Veronese with the support of MiC and SIAE (“For Those Who Create”), is coming to life.
Under the guidance of Fabrizio Arcuri and Babilonia Teatri, the selected young artists will create an original performance for public space, tackling one of the most urgent challenges of the present: overtourism.
The impact of mass tourism on territories and communities becomes scenic material, transforming the streets into a laboratory of civil and poetic reflection. What is the boundary between hospitality and distortion? Through visceral research, the artists will investigate the imbalances that inhabit the squares, offering a poetic and necessary vision. The future of Italian theater questions the contemporary, reclaiming the urban scene with courage on the burning issue of our time that invites reflection on the delicate balance between hospitality and sustainability, calling visitors and citizens to a shared responsibility towards the urban and human heritage of cities.
