Special evening with the students of the Ballet of Verona, to celebrate the end of the academic year.
On stage “The Sleeping Beauty,” classic repertoire ballet in a prologue and three acts to music by Pëtr Il'ic Tchaikovsky, with choreography by Masters Anna Guetsman and Eriberto Verardi based on the great French choreographer Marius Petipa.
“The Sleeping Beauty” is one of the masterpieces of classical dance, a pinnacle of the Russian imperial style of the 19th century, representing the very idea of ballet. Like the other two works considered icons of dance, “Swan Lake” and “The Nutcracker,” the ballet was choreographed by the French Master Marius Petipa to the musical score of the Russian Pëtr Il'ic Tchaikovsky.
The leading roles of Aurora and Prince Désiré will be performed by Olga Chepanova (First Ballerina of the Bratislava Theater) and Denys Cherevychko, former First Dancer of the Vienna Opera.
