Located in the main square of Arcole and named after F. Poggi, the Barchessa Ottolini is a symmetrical structure consisting of a long portico that connects two identical residential buildings at each end.
It was part of an ancient manorial court whose original nucleus dates back to the 15th century, when it was owned by the Pellegrini family, later passed to the Maffei and then to the Ottolini.
The Barchessa was commissioned by the counts Ottolini at the beginning of the 18th century, in order to provide the court with a new rural building for the processing, transformation, and preservation of agricultural products. The portico extends to the south, along the entire length of the central part, with fifteen arches featuring masks that represent grotesque figures of human or animal faces.
The coat of arms of the Ottolini stands out on the central arch of the porticos and features a shield with eight stars.
