One of the most historic wineries in Valpolicella, founded by Carlo Santi back in 1843 in Illasi, a small village a few kilometers from Verona, surrounded by vineyards, famous for its villas and medieval castle. Here, at the foot of the Lessini Mountains, right on the border between the Soave and Valpolicella production areas, the Santi family began producing the typical wines of the region. Carlo and his successors, Attilio, Gino, and Guido, immediately chose to focus on quality, using only the best grapes from the most suitable areas and committing themselves to research and innovation. In 1974, the winery became part of the Gruppo Italiano Vini, which allowed for the enhancement of its facilities and confirmed its qualitative vocation.
Today, under the guidance of oenologist Cristian Ridolfi, Cantina Santi continues its pursuit of excellence expressed in the unique style of its wines: the great red wines of Valpolicella, the soul of the winery, but also other famous Veronese denominations such as Soave, Lugana, and Bardolino.
The drying loft for Amarone grapes, the historic winery with its impressive barrels and the brolo, the traditional vineyard surrounded by walls. But also the wine shop and the villa, with its evocative centuries-old park where great cedars of Lebanon reside, witnesses of an ancient time.
