The Church of San Lorenzo Martire, in Caldierino, was built in 1595. Due to its proximity to the parish of Rota dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua, it experienced a long period of competition and discord, so much so that on several occasions, at different times, the Bishops had to intervene to suppress the conflicts. In 1889, Cardinal Luigi di Canossa, then Bishop of Verona, united it with the Parish of Rota, thus creating a single Parish for Rota and Caldierino.
The building features a neoclassical gabled facade facing west. At the center, framed by two pairs of Ionic order pilasters, is the entrance portal. Higher up, the facade is capped by a pediment with a projecting frame.
The floor plan consists of a single rectangular hall with four side semi-chapels housing the altars of the Madonna del Rosario and the Sacred Heart on the northern side, and the altars of St. Joseph and the Madonna on the opposite side. The presbytery is quadrangular in shape, elevated and concluded with a semicircular apse. The internal facades are rhythmically adorned with slender Ionic pilasters supporting a high entablature that runs along the entire perimeter, decorated with wall paintings by the painter G. Miolato.
