The work for the construction of the current “Chiesa Grande” (big church) began in 1948 – 1949. It was built so large because it was anticipated that the area would develop, thanks to the project of a dam that would be built downstream, under the Taioli district. Water would come from Giazza through a tunnel, which had already been completed, for which as much as 3 billion lire had been spent. The disaster of Vajont dissuaded everyone from carrying out such a project.
The Church could not be completed in every detail due to lack of funds. However, in 1994, the Missionaries of La Salette arrived: with the help of many volunteers, the Fathers took care of the complete renovation of the Church: the floor was made with red and white stone from Verona, the roof was rebuilt, and the Church was provided with all the necessary furnishings such as benches, statues, paintings...
The façade is modern, gabled, with an entrance portal protected by a canopy that runs the full width of the front. At the top, there is a circular window.
Inside, it features a single rectangular hall layout, which progressively widens towards the presbytery. Along both sides of the hall, three small chapels are arranged in sequence, whose structure emerges externally.
