The Church of Badia Calavena was built between 1824 and 1828, thanks to donations of money, timber, and labor from the faithful, under the guidance of the Parish Priest Don Bellorio Paolo, the Curate Don Giovanni Cieno, and the Chaplain Don Panato Giovanni.
It has a gabled façade with four pilasters supporting the tympanum, adorned with two statues depicting the Annunciation, which come from the suppressed Church of the Discipline in Verona.
The interior has a single nave with a main altar in Baroque style, finely crafted from marble of various colors with magnificent side doors surmounted by some statues. Along the nave, there are four side altars: the first is dedicated to the Madonna and contains a statue of Saint Louis, the second is dedicated to Saint Anthony and houses a painting by Turchi known as Orbetto, depicting the Virgin, Saint Anthony, and other Saints, another altar is dedicated to the Crucifix and is made of black-and-white veined marbles and pure white, and the last altar is dedicated to Saints Vito and Modesto and consists of four small columns made of eye-pernice (marble from Grezzana). At the main entrance of the Church is the round font of holy water made of pink marble.
Near the southwest side of the Church rises the bell tower, built between 1857 and 1866.
In front of the church extends the long and wide Piazza Mercato, at the end of which stands an artistic marble cross.
