The first news regarding the church comes from a notarial deed from 1382.
Between 1904 and 1906, thanks to the financial contribution of Baron Rossi, the building was renovated and enlarged with the addition of a room to the west of the nave and the subsequent renovation of the facade in its current forms.
The church features a gabled facade, at the center of which is the entrance portal with a full arch. To its sides and above it, two elongated monofora windows and a rose window illuminate the interior of the building.
Along the right side of the nave stands the oratory, with its main front aligned with the facade of the church, currently used as a weekday chapel.
The internal architectural layout consists of a single rectangular hall, with a raised presbytery of two steps ending in a semi-elliptical apse; along the sides of the nave, two semi-side chapels house the altar of St. Anthony the Abbot, on the left side, and the altar of the Madonna Pellegrina, on the opposite side. The internal walls, plastered and painted, are characterized in the central section of the longitudinal sides of the nave by an architectural scheme defined by two Composite order pilasters with an overlapped frieze, which frame the molded architrave that houses the minor altar.
At the center of the apse wall is the altarpiece from 1967 depicting “Jesus Christ between Saint Benedict and Saint Anthony the Abbot” by Giuseppe Resi.
The hall has a sloping roof structure with wooden trusses and visible beams; the apse space is topped by a flat false ceiling made of plastered reed; the roof is covered with clay tiles. The flooring of the hall is made of black and white cement tiles; the presbytery is paved with slabs of red Verona marble.
The bell tower, with twin windows and a pyramidal roof, is attached to the southern side of the presbytery.
