Giardino Musicale of Illasi was opened to the public after the architectural restoration of the building, which revealed remains of a 10th-century church and a bronze bell foundry pit. The recovered archaeological remains are visible through a transparent slab. A fresco depicting Saint Christopher, the protector of pilgrims, dating from the 11th to the 12th century, has also been restored.
The building has perfect acoustics and serves as an architecturally elegant and intimate structure, suitable for the function it has now been assigned. The "Musical Garden" Association offers a diverse musical program with courses in theory and instrumental practice for children and school-aged youth, as well as musical events ranging from classical to folk, along with guided listening and musicology courses.
The place is dedicated to Professor Dino Formaggio, a citizen of Illasi who played a significant role in the world of culture, art, and philosophy in his hometown, cultivated with constant passion, and in the theorization of which he always emphasized the primary value of communication within the human community.
