From the village of Montecchia di Crosara one climbs towards Monte Mirabello through landscapes dense with olive trees, cherry trees, and other fruit trees.
The route continues along a scenic ridge that leads to the Cross of Monte Bastia with a view of the Val Tramigna and Val d’Illasi, before continuing down towards Castelcerino, a panoramic village home to renowned wineries.
Through a wooded path one will reach Contrà Meggiano from where, among the vineyards, one will head towards Piazza Castello, where it is possible to visit the remains of the ancient Castle, destroyed in 1222 and became the Romanesque Church of San Salvatore in the 10th century, located on a panoramic hill overlooking the current center of the village.
The itinerary is especially recommended during the Cherry Festival, the second week of June.
