San Giovanni Ilarione has a panoramic position situated in the heart of Val d'Alpone and immersed in a landscape characterized by vast expanses of vineyards, chestnut trees, and cherry trees.
The historical, naturalistic, and panoramic route enjoys splendid views of 360° over the Alpone valley and the Lessini Mountains. It is a circular itinerary that starts from the Church of Santa Caterina and leads to the discovery of the Castle of San Giovanni Ilarione, a place steeped in history where you can contemplate a charming panorama of the valley.
On the way back to the village, it is possible to admire an extraordinary natural scenery: a rocky wall resembling a giant beehive; it is the imposing structure of the columnar basalts, formed from the cooling and contraction of lava flows that gave rise to these shiny, black prismatic shapes with a hexagonal base.
The path is accessible all year round, particularly recommended on the second Sunday of October, when the traditional and folkloric Sagra della Castagne takes place.
