Beautiful hike in the wild nature of the Lessini Mountains, along a trail rich in surprises, discovering paths with dry stone walls that take us back to the time of the landscape of the Cimbrian populations.
From the village of San Bortolo delle Montagne, we ascend through a dense coppice forest until we reach the small oratory church of contrà Gaiga built in 1912. The path continues uphill until we admire the spectacular Calgera waterfall set in a beautiful beech forest.
We proceed to Durlo, one of the many hamlets that characterize the wooded valleys at the foot of the stunning rocky mountain backdrop.
Upon arriving at Durlo, we gently ascend through the beech forest towards the summit of the volcanic cone of Monte Purga, arriving at a wide clearing to enjoy the splendid view of the upper Chiampo valley dotted with hamlets that have remained unchanged in their original structure.
