ON THE TRAILS OF ARCOLE: an experience to live!
Connect to the “On the Trails of Arcole” website and you can explore the 8 paths that extend across the Arcolese territory. Many maps are available in different modes depending on whether you want to venture on foot, by bike, or even by car.
Using Google My Maps or the Outdooractive app, you can set off whenever you want for your chosen route. What must not be missed? A visit to the Arcole museum!
A territory is not understood solely as a geographical place, made up of nature and landscape, but it is also a homogeneous set of history, traditions, and culture, expressed through its historical-artistic heritage, culture, traditions, and local typical products.
Arcole is famous all over the world for the battle that took place in November 1796 between Napoleon's troops and the Austrian ones. Here we find an obelisk, unique in Italy, built by Napoleon to commemorate the battle, and a museum that recalls all the feats of the great leader.
But there is also a museum that collects documents of a now-gone civilization, that of the peasant community. Additionally, there are villas, palaces, churches, and sometimes overlooked or undervalued chapels. But Arcole is also famous for its typical products, such as asparagus, wine, and radicchio.
What is proposed is a serious project to enhance the natural and historical riches of Arcole, integrating them in a coordinated manner with all the components that characterize the tourist offer of our territory: museums, environment, art, history, typical products, etc.
Publications propose thematic routes concerning various historical periods: the Roman period, the medieval period, the Venetian period, the Napoleonic and Austro-Italian period. Other routes pertain to peasant civilization, religious, and environmental themes.
